Prosecutors-The New Firing Squad- No Jurors Needed

The United States Criminal Justice System is supposed to be the best in the world.

We are suppose to be the land of the free and the home of the brave.

We have lost that distinction.

Now our justice systems is ran by prosecutors.

Prosecutors are now, judge and jury.

Once a prosecutor decide that a person is guilty, there is no turning back.

They will do whatever it takes to get that conviction, even if it means manipulating evidence and witnesses.

After all, prosecutors have been given that power.

Why do we even bother with a jury?

We might as well go back to the time of firing squads.

Prosecutors run the justice system.

No jurors needed.

  1. This is exactly what happened with my son, His Attorney told us it would be easier to convince one person that he was innocent, than 12 !! So all we had was the Judge. Who gave the DA Everything he asked for in sentencing, NO EVIDENCE that my son did it, just the so called victims word!!! …..

    1. Tina, it is unfortunate, but even the judges appear to be intimidated by the prosecutors and bow down to their demands. I wish I knew everything that I know now back when this started. Things would have been different. I did not know that my son could have claimed ineffective asistance of counseling before sentencing or that he could have requested a evidientary hearing. It is our lack of knowledge that hurts us the most. The knowledge for me came too late; however, I will continue to fight. I know that you will also.

  2. I am stuck in the middle. I have a family member who was wrongfully convicted in a case where I believe even the prosecutor thought he was innocent, but prosecuted vigorously (to the point of legal misconduct) for the sake of his own ego. On the other hand, I have a family member who is a prosecutor who takes care to uphold the rights of the accused, and has refused to prosecute cases where she believes the accused did not commit the crime.

  3. If someone can’t afford an attorney they get no day in court. If there is no money to be made they don’t want to take up the courts time. I read somewhere only 3% make it to trial. They start by offering 40 years. If you refuse the deal then the add extra charges well and then they came back with 17 No guidance. No one to counsel.
