This is a picture from my cell phone of a text message sent by my son’s attorney during the trial. As you can see below, the text says, judge said my son needs to take ten years deputies are saying we’re gonna lose this.
What would you think if you received this text?
The first thing I thought was that the deputies and jurors were talking about the case constituting juror misconduct.
Then I thought that the prosecutor and our attorney were trying to get my son to take a plea because they heard the jurors were leaning in favor of the defense.
The prosecutor did come back with a plea of 8 years which my son did not take.
I believe that our attorney was working with prosecutor.
Would the judge really say something like this in the middle of a trial? Seems almost impossible. This could have been a ploy to get my son to take a plea.
