Motion to continue and continue and continue

After the fiasco of talking with the prosecutor, I became more disenchanted with our attorney. I still hadn’t realized that she really wasn’t looking at the best interest of my son. I still believed that there must be some strategic move or reasoning for everything that she was doing. I was wrong again. Wrong again. I still hadn’t known that she had postponed many hearings. We didn’t know that she was not doing anything. We didn’t know that many of the hearings and plea conferences that took place before my son’s 21st birthday should have included him. She would say that his appearance is not required. She would say that it was cancelled. One time we went to Florida and she called us at the hotel and said it was cancelled. That was the one on 2/2/2012. Luckily there are records and air reservations confirming that we were in Florida.  There is nothing in the register of actions that said the judge cancelled the hearing. I do not believe it was true. It was later that I learned how to look at the register of actions. I have put posted some of those actions below taken from directly from court records.

I saw all of theses continuance, hearings, etc. waiver of speedy trial, case consolidated, etc. Shouldn’t my son have been attending these hearings??? We thought everything was going to be alright until we went to her office for a trial prep. We did not know what it meant to prepare for trial but we knew it couldn’t be what she did that day. That was no prep.

Please look at the continuances and pre-trial conferences that took place. My son was told that his presence was not necessary. Out of the below list, he only attended the Pre-trial conference on 2/17/2012, a week before his 21st birthday.

2/2/2014 – She said that it was cancelled. The judge had to do something. Was it because my son still had 19 days before his 21st birthday? We flew back to Alabama.
